Vector Laboratories

For over 45 years, Vector Laboratories has been recognized as a pioneer and market leader in labeling and detection reagents for immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, glycobiology, and bioconjugation. Vector Laboratories was the first company to commercialize avidin-biotin enzyme complex kits for immunohistochemistry and antifade mounting media for immunofluorescence and has since introduced over 600 reliable reagents and kits.

Product Portfolio

The product catalog includes VECTASTAIN® ABC kits, VECTASHIELD® Mounting Media, VectaMount® Express, ImmPRESS® Polymer Detection Kits, TrueVIEW® Autofluorescence Quenching Kit, ImmPACT® Substrates and SoluLINK®, and a broad range of lectin and glycobiology reagents.

These time-tested tools and methods are used by disease and therapeutics researchers globally to accelerate their lab processes and improve productivity. Vector Laboratories’ products have been cited in more than 350,000 scientific publications and are included in Standard Operating Procedures in labs worldwide.

VECTASHIELD® Antifade Mounting Media

Choosing an effective mounting medium is especially important for immunofluorescence imaging. Fluorophores are susceptible to photobleaching and fading from both the imaging excitation light and during storage. The right mounting medium will protect your samples for short- and long-term use and archiving.

Choose between the VECTASHIELD, VECTASHIELD® PLUS, VECTASHIELD Vibrance®, and VECTASHIELD HardSet™ Antifade Mounting Media.

Key Advantages:

  • Inhibits photobleaching of most fluorophores, dyes, fluorescent proteins, and stains
  • Ideal refractive index
  • Ready to use, no warming necessary
  • Continues to inhibit photobleaching even after prolonged storage of mounted slides
  • Easy-to-use
  • With or without nuclear or cytoskeletal counterstain
  • Hardening or non-hardening formulations

VectaPlex™ Antibody Removal Kit

VectaPlex Antibody Removal kit is a ready-to-use kit designed to remove antibodies and other non-covalently bound detection reagents from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections in immunofluorescence or tyramide signal amplification staining workflows.

Vector® TrueVIEW® Autofluorescence Quenching Kit

Reveal true immunofluorescence—even in challenging tissues

Vector TrueVIEW Autofluorescence Quenching Kit provides a novel way to remove unwanted fluorescence in tissue sections due to aldehyde fixation, red blood cells, and structural elements such as collagen and elastin. This unique formulation binds and effectively quenches the autofluorescent elements in even the most problematic tissues, such as kidney, spleen and pancreas.

ImmPRESS® Polymer Reagents for IHC

Polymer-based reagents are a more recent introduction into IHC detection methodology than traditional avidin and biotin conjugates, such as ABC kit formats. Polymers offer distinct advantages over these traditional methods particularly for applications such as multiple antigen labeling (multiplexing) on the same tissue section, or in instances where detectable levels of endogenous biotin may be problematic.

These kits offer:

  • High sensitivity for optimum immunohistochemistry detection
  • Unique, non-biotin based micropolymer technology
  • Ready-to-use, pre-diluted reagents
  • Time-saving one-step protocols
  • Choice of enzyme (HRP or AP)

Finding it difficult which kit to choose?

This ImmPRESS Enzyme Polymer brochure describes ImmPRESS micropolymer technology and includes schematics to help the user choose the most appropriate format for their application.

VectaMount Express Mounting Medium

VectaMount Express is a non-aqueous clearing and mounting medium enabling the rapid mounting of cell and tissue specimens following immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining. This novel formulation is engineered to enable mounting directly following staining, saving time by eliminating the need for extensive ethanol and clearing washes prior to coverslipping.
