Environmental awareness

As a distributor, BioNordika has an indirect impact on the environment, hence, it is important for us to set requirements that our suppliers must meet. Thanks to our lengthy and well-established relationships with our suppliers, we have the opportunity to require high standards on materials and sustainable production at every level. BioNordika is responsible for obtaining and delivering the products we sell. Consequently, efficient logistics and warehouse management are essential, which contribute both to reduce environmental impact. For example, most of our antibodies from Cell Signaling Technology, are shipped and delivered at ambient temperature, because the stability of the antibodies allows it. Several tests shows that the antibodies are just as active when shipped at room temperature as on ice. A nice environmentally friendly feature resulting in less waste of materials.

Green tips

It is certainly possible to run the lab a bit more sustainable by squeezing down the consumption of plastic materials, recycling more efficiently, or even reusing some products. At BioNordika we are committed to making better choices for our environment, and we encourage our customers to consider these 7 green tips:
 

• Select a supplier with green values in practice
• Replace tap water-cooling with circulators
• Shut down the instruments when not in use
• Avoid unnecessary heating and cooling
• Choose less harmful reagents when available
• Maintain your instruments regularly to keep them running longer.
• Order in bulk when possible, to avoid extra packaging and shipping
